I use the kettle to make pots of tea and cups of coffee. Perfect product for all my daily drinking needs.The product has a solid feel, is reliable, and looks modern on the kitchen counter. Glad I decided to buy -- The water is bubbly in munites,And so am I.
The 1.7 liters I boil in the T-Fal are just the right amount to fill the carafe and brew my favorite variety of loose green tea, which then lasts all day. We call it "the Penguin" at home, because its shape resembles a penguin's body (it's hard to explain, but you'll see it). For coffee, I boil just about 1 large cup worth of water, then use a plastic funnel on top of a mug with a paper filter and coffee inside, to pour boiling water over and drip into a mug of healthy, fresh brew that's ready in about 5 minutes from the time the kettle is turned on.
I purchased this T-Fal Vitesse electric kettle about 5 months ago and have used it multiple times on a daily basis. The carafe cost about $10 and holds about 6 large mugs of tea. Just writing this review makes me all watery-eyed and bubbly ;-) Again, solid product and well worth the money -- you won't be disappointed with T-Fal on this one.
When you fill it up and turn it on, it begins by making a hissing sound characteristic of all electric kettles, but the sound subsides very quickly and is followed by a period of quiet, upon which the water then begins to boil and the kettle shuts off automatically. For tea, I have purchased a replacement coffee-maker carafe made of tempered glass.
Very fast and fairly quiet. Exactly what I was looking for to use at school.
The wide range of temperature settings is very good and it heats very fast. At first I thought I wanted something like a coffee maker so the water would stay hot all the time but I actually prefer that this kettle turns itself off once it reaches the temperature you set.that way I never forget to turn it off myself. Speaking of.have to run - tea is ready. I bought this kettle about 2 months ago and I love it. I wanted something for my office to heat water so I could have tea throughout the day and this product works like a charm.
They have been trying forever to find something like this without success. Mom said I made her Mother's Day hands down. Bought this for my mother-in-law who lives in Japan. They said this kettle is perfect in every way. Best part, it came in white. She and dad use it to make their french press coffee 2-4 times daily. THEY LOVE IT.
I highly recommend this kettle. The temperature knob is a great feature for people like myself who like the waterhot but not scalding. This kettle is just what I wanted and more.It stays cool on the outside, it heats quickly,turns off automatically and it pours without dripping. It wipes clean easily and is comfortableto lift and pour.
